Good luck, Terry! I’ve missed your analyses… I find them well sourced and the topics a bit different from other political writers

Glad to see you writing again, Terry. I hope the hip continues to get better! As a (now) retired teacher, I share your consternation with the states of miseducation -- namely, Texas and Oklahoma. I'm no expert (although I do have 34 years of classroom experience), but I'm pretty sure posting the 10 Commandments in schools and screening teaching candidates for "wokeness" won't do much to improve schools.

No, those measures won't do much to improve schools but they will no doubt motivate MAGA types to vote for Ryan Walters!

Terry, when my friend Marc Molinaro ran for NY Govenor he carried every County Upstate but one. NYC will elect a Democrat almost every time. Nothing changed.

Wayne - Yes, but don't forget that Pataki won three times. Giuliani served 8 years as NYC mayor. It can be done. The key for any Republican running for statewide office is you have to garner 50% of the vote in the city to have a chance of winning. Mass recently had a Republican governor for eight years. The key there was distancing himself from Trump. It worked there and can work in other northeastern states dominated by Dems. Lawler could win the governor's race but not Stefanik.
