I agree about Kamala's non-existent interviewing skills, or should I say, being the focus of an interview. The woman can't answer a question if her life depended on it. I get your point, posted after the last article, about being coached to answer the question you want to answer not the one that was asked, but every once in a while she's got to directly answer. The more time that goes by with her NOT answering about her policies and "life values", the more painfully obvious it is that this candidate never could have survived an open primary--as was evident in 2019/2020. Instead, what the Democrats have is a textbook example of the Peter Principle, in the flesh.
If I were a Dem, Harris would not have been my first choice. Biden had promised to appoint a woman, which narrowed the field considerably. Among those on the short list was Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. She is a far better politician than Harris. After Biden withdrew, anointing Harris, the incumbent VP, was clearly the cleanest way to replace him. If Trump wins, history will judge that move a big mistake.
Hoisted by a DEI petard...If he had not narrowed his VP field to only women, as you point out, it would have given him a wider choice, obviously. Not only that, but the candidate would have been viewed as the best choice, and not just because it was a woman.
