I am glad that you have made so much progress, Mr. Cowgill. I know from personal experience that rehabilitation can be a difficult experience.
I was shocked (well, not really) by Mr. Trump’s announcement of the US “owning” Gaza, sending the Palestinians to “other countries” and then turning Gaza into the Riviera of the Middle East. If any President other than Trump had said that the press would be screaming bloody murder. And I don’t think that the administration is walking some of it back as much as they are “sane washing”it. And the press seems to be letting them get away with it.
Thanks Mr O. I can feel the empathy, given the numerous physical challenges you yourself have faced. I still hold in my head images of you doggedly navigating the hills and curves of the Forman campus -- treacherous in winter -- and wondering how you did it. You were an inspiration to all. Thanks for reading.
It was great to see your smiling face again, Terry! More importantly, it's wonderful that you're on the road to recovery due to excellent health care and the inspiration of your grandson. Even in this crazy, mixed-up, seemingly f-ed world, we must take care of ourselves first because we don't have anything if we don't have our health. Continued progress, my friend. I look forward to your future insights (which, I fully know, are also a form of therapy for a writer like you!).
Thanks Barth. Its not much of a smile but it's the most I could muster under the circumstances. And yes, the multi-pronged approach to therapy continues!
Pickle ball!!!! Looks like such a gentle sport… almost weightless balls, very light rackets. Somehow, I can’t see a fall like that in a tennis match. Thanks for letting us know the details…. So glad you are on the recuperation end of this story. Stay strong & I’m so glad you have Emmett to help you pull through.
So sorry to hear of your misfortune, but happy to know you received such good care. I’m certain you will make a complete recovery! You have to for Emmett!!!!! Hello to nurse Laura, and all best wishes to you.
So if Canada were admitted to our union, 10 provinces and 3 territories, that should be 26 new senators and god only knows how many reps. Do you think MAGA would support that?
I know. I’m sure republicans in the know told Trump to be careful what he wishes for. Canada leans to our left, of course, so the majority of those members of Congress would be Dems.
Did not realize your accident happened in Durham, which was home for us for seven years. Apart from summer, it was a great place to live. We used to say we did not live in Jesse Helms' North Carolina. Duke Regional was Durham County Regional when we there and was run by Kaiser Permanente. Glad you are on the mend.
Here's to a safe and healthy recovery! I think the Gaza Riviera is not a bad idea. How many container ships do you think it would take to get Mar a Lago there?

Thanks Tim. I spent a summer in Durham with Rob in 1985. It is a much different place now, for sure.

Now that’s a better solution. Gaza as an exile location for Trump!
Glad to hear you're healing. Take care of yourself.
